Horses Healing Hearts
Through genuine connections and gentle guidance our "Horses Healing Hearts" program serve children, ages 6-18, who have experienced early childhood trauma from traumatic life events.
Traumatic life events are shocking, scary, or dangerous experiences that can affect a child emotionally and physically. These events are caused by many things such foster care placement, adoption, physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse, neglect, violence, divorce, illness or the death of a loved one, natural disasters and accidents.
Horses Healing Hearts is an Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) programs designed to help improve the life course of traumatized children and begin the process of healing.
An Individualized Plan of Care (IPC) is developed for each child entering into one of our healing programs. Our program Director carefully takes into account the child's strengths and challenges as she develops the child's IPC. Then the child is matched with a trained Mentor and a horse, both of which, will be used consistently throughout the program.
Our program runs for 16 consecutive weeks per session. To the left is an example of our program schedule.
Program Cost: $200 per month
